'Andy' , a successful banker is arrested for the murders of his wife and her lover  and in 'Shawshank Jail' he was sentenced to life imprisonment.

At first,  'Andy' suffered a lot of harassment by other inmates . Gradually he adjusted to the situation. All the former  prison inmates  who used to harass 'Andy' are now slowly behaving like friends   And this incident was made possible entirely by Andy's cheap behavior.

  But there was a guy named 'Red' who didn't treat  'Andy' badly from start to finish.  'Andy' bestfriend was ' Red' and he discuss everything with 'Red'.

Gradually 'Andy' became very popular with everyone.  
Since he was a good banker, he kept track of the salaries or other money of all the high ranking officers of the prison.

He arranged to open a library in the prison so that the prisoners could read the books.
  
In his day-to-day life, no one knew what he had planned to do to get out of prison, 'Red' didn't know . He was finally able to crawl through a two-kilometer long tunnel one night and be released from prison


In the end turned out that he didn't commit murder. ' Red' finally finds 'Andy'  after her release from prison because 'Andy' leaves a hidden later  for her somewhere.
